William J. Pastore, age 88, of Old Saybrook, Ct. passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018 at Middletown Hospital Hospice after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Joan, his wife for 64 years, was at his bedside as were his daughter, a son, and two granddaughters.
Bill was born July 12, 1929, in White Plains, NY to Joseph and Lena Pastore. He was raised in Mount Vernon, NY, received his undergraduate degree from NYU and JD from St. John's University. He then served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War before launching his legal career. He was a partner in his own law firm, Sacks, Montgomery, Molineaux and Pastore with offices in NYC and Stamford, Ct. before retiring from full-time practice in 1992.
Throughout his life, Bill was a dedicated athlete playing tennis and paddleball when he was younger, then turning to golf and kayaking once he retired. He also had an inordinate love of Twizzlers, which he evidently passed down in his DNA to his children.
Besides his loving wife, Joan, he is survived by his three children, 3 grandchildren, and a great grandson. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his inability to remember his strokes on the golf course.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the care he received at The Shoreline of Clinton as well as the compassion of the staff at Middlesex Hospital Hospice.
Services are under the care of Swan Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will take place at a future date as well as burial with Military Honors in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings on Hudson, NY.
