William H Fitch, 78, of Old Saybrook, the son of the late Hugh R Fitch and Esther L Swallen, passed away peacefully at home on a Sunday June 18th, 2017.

Bill was born April 16, 1939 in Englewood, NJ. He loved to ride his motorcycle, travel and spend time with family and friends. Bill was an active member of the Congregational Church in Westbrook. Bill served in the US Marine Corps. He was a teacher for many years at Fitch High School and also worked for the DEP.

William H Fitch, 78, of Old Saybrook, the son of the late Hugh R Fitch and Esther L Swallen, passed away peacefully at home on a Sunday June 18th, 2017.

Bill was born April 16, 1939 in Englewood, NJ. He loved to ride his motorcycle, travel and spend time with family and friends. Bill was an active member of the Congregational Church in Westbrook. Bill served in the US Marine Corps. He was a teacher for many years at Fitch High School and also worked for the DEP.

Bill is predeceased by his wife Sandra Lee Fitch. He is survived by his fiancé Jeanette Murphy of Old Saybrook and by his brother John and Anne Fitch, his sister Sally and Walter Gerdes, and his sister Mimi and Carl Fleming.

In addition, Bill leaves behind his brother and sisters-in-law: Norman Lowrey, Kris Guptill, Dolores Stone (deceased), and Gene Ramistella (deceased) and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday June 23, 2017 at Westbrook Congregational Church 1166 Boston Post Road, Westbrook, CT 06498.
