AUFIERO, Victor A. Victor A. Aufiero, age 61 of Old Saybrook passed away March 26, 2011 at the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic in Essex. Beloved husband of Gail (Pomphrey) Aufiero, he was born in Bronxville, NY on December 7, 1949, to the late Emmanuel and Kathryn (Theriault) Aufiero. Victor graduated from Bronxville High School in 1967 and attended Rio Grande College. Victor retired from R.R. Donnelly Co. Old Saybrook after 25 years where he was a pressman. AUFIERO, Victor A. Victor A. Aufiero, age 61 of Old Saybrook passed away March 26, 2011 at the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic in Essex. Beloved husband of Gail (Pomphrey) Aufiero, he was born in Bronxville, NY on December 7, 1949, to the late Emmanuel and Kathryn (Theriault) Aufiero. Victor graduated from Bronxville High School in 1967 and attended Rio Grande College. Victor retired from R.R. Donnelly Co. Old Saybrook after 25 years where he was a pressman. For the last seven years he was the desk manager at the Comfort Inn in Old Saybrook. He was a sports enthusiast, always routing for the N.Y. Giants, N. Y. Yankees, The UCONN Huskies and Horse Racing. Victor loved to fish, but his true love was his family, he will be sadly missed. Besides his wife of thirty three years he is survived by his son Victor E. Aufiero, also known as Manny, of Old Saybrook;, sister's Roberta Newberry of Enfield, NH; Sharon Wood of Old Saybrook;, Cecilia Aufiero of Enfield, NH; brothers Francis Aufiero and his wife Mary Lou of Wallkill, NY, Timothy Aufiero of Phoenix, AZ. and James Aufiero of Enfield, NH. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Eugene Pomphrey of Bronxville, NY, and many nieces and nephews, plus his little friend Tyler, his trusted companion. He is predeceased by his son, Justin Aufiero, who passed in 2002. Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook (TODAY) from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday (March 30, 2011). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, following calling hours, at 12 noon at St John Church, Main St., Old Saybrook. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook.
