Beatrice Millicent Jamieson Hinchliffe, age 98, of Old Saybrook, passed away after a full life on March 28, 2015 at Gladeview Health Care. She was the loving wife of 55 years to the late John D. Hinchliffe. She was born on August 26, 1917, in Trenton NJ, to the late Robert D. and Beatrice L. (Royals) Jamieson. Before moving to Old Saybrook in 1966, from Levittown, PA she was a homemaker and raised three daughters. Beatrice Millicent Jamieson Hinchliffe, age 98, of Old Saybrook, passed away after a full life on March 28, 2015 at Gladeview Health Care. She was the loving wife of 55 years to the late John D. Hinchliffe. She was born on August 26, 1917, in Trenton NJ, to the late Robert D. and Beatrice L. (Royals) Jamieson. Before moving to Old Saybrook in 1966, from Levittown, PA she was a homemaker and raised three daughters. She worked as a secretary to the head of the engineering school at Princeton University for three years. In Old Saybrook she worked part time. Her real love was gardening keeping her hands in the soil and watching beauty bloom. Her other hobbies included needlework, sewing, including the wedding gowns for her daughters. In her 70s exercise became a favorite habit. She joined several weekly classes at the Old Saybrook Senior Center, where she enjoyed the company of good friends. She continued exercising until her 97th birthday. Saybrook has lost a
good friend. She is survived by her three daughters Susan H. Stallings and her husband Walton Dees of Lothian MD, Pamela S. Herrick and her husband Carleton S. of Frederick MD, Barbara D. Hinchliffe of Old Saybrook, and a brother Robert R. Jamieson of Pennington N.J. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher D. Stallings, Lauren S. Lester, and Jennifer F. Herrick all of Maryland, and two great granddaughters, Breana N. Reynolds, and Melody N. Stallings and one great great grandson Rylee. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 2-4m pm. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Gladeview Healthcare Center for all the care and respect they showed their mother.
